LECRAE

I remember walking down the street last year when this song came up on my iPod. I don't know if it was the song or the wind blowing in my face but I felt a tear roll down my cheek.

I know this isn't everyone's steeze so to speak, but I'd encourage you to give it a chance. Listen to the words .. it's pretty deep.

Going deeper.

Give Thanks

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

It's been a crazy year for both us .. we've had our highs and lows in life, but even if the bad outweighs the good we can still give thanks.

"Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever." Psalms 107:1

From Ivy and Dre
Giving thanks 365 days a year

Speaking of John Mayer...

Just had to co-sign on Dresky's post

John Mayer - Dreaming with a broken heart.

I remember the first time I heard this song was on The Game when Derwin and Mel broke up and he thought she was in the house. I had it on repeat for like a week straight after that.

He goes in every time.

The Nuit Blanche Experiment

In short, Nuit Blanche is an annual contemporary Art show that runs from 6:45pm - 6am in Toronto.

Sok, Tanisha and myself decided to gallivant down there at around 10pm to expand our minds and see what all the fuss was about.

I didn't take a lot of pictures, because.. well.. we didn't see much. But what we did see was Sketch-bag.

Ghost Choir (aka. The Duppy Choir aka. The Devil is a liar)

"Beautiful Light Exhibit" - 4 Letter Word Machine

OK, so basically they had this screen set up in Nathan Philips Square (Toronto's city hall). The monitor kept flashing these undecipherable symbols, while you heard this sinister mans voice blaring through massive speakers. Everyone immediately gravitated towards the ominous music that blanketed the area. WE BOOKED IT OUT OF THERE!

Thus concluding the Nuit Blanche experiment... yea, probably gonna sit the next one out. Either that or do more research before I head out.

Sweatin' Me...

sooooo, its getting to that time of year where shorts are becoming unexceptable, as well as flip flops and any open toe shoes (keep the monsters in the cage people). But now that its getting chilly I had to purchase me some sweaters, because people tend to loose their freshness as it draws closer to winter. And I decided to try something new and look presentable during this cold winter months. I have the tendency to wear the same track pants for like 3 weeks, and not shave for longer, but who is really looking?

Anyways here they are: The first additions to Operation: "Frozen Goods"

Wednesdays & Drizzy

Wednesday is officially my least favourite day of the week...

The school day starts so early and ends soooooo late! But I live for the grind so I can't even complain.

Anyway in Hip Hop & Basketball news...

Drake (TORONTO!) Feat. Lil Wayne, Kanye West and Eminem

"Forever"

The video is alright... Who thought superimposing Drake with himself was a good idea though?

The Lebron footage & Em's verse are the best part of the video. I'd love to elaborate but umm I'm late for have a meeting :)

I told you about Wednesdays..

Killa Killa...

While taking a break from studying (yes I do that) and began listening to music on my Ipod. As I had it on shuffle a Cam'Ron song came on, and I had no choice but to reminisce about the good ol' days when everyone thought he was a lyrical animal. As I listened to the lyrics of "Get Em Girl" I remembered he was that dude that "Got the boosters boostin, and the computers putin" (Oh yes those are the lyrics) and I thought to myself I wonder if Cam'Ron really wrote this "hot fire". I put my google search hat on and found...

Killa Cam's rhyme book... Oh yes you found it here second, (shout out to Ohword.com)

Click HERE for Cam's book of rhymes...

Well after you read it you'll come to the conclusion it was not really his book of ryhmes but they are on point. I can picture Cam spittin them word for word...

Before I go, I will leave y'all with some new video stimulation for the Killa Man...

I still got love for killa even though you rocking that whack Jay-z fro

Macbook Ressurected! + Kanye the Psycho + MICHAEL JACKSON

Thanks to Craiglist I got myself a brand-spankin' new Mac charger diirrrt cheap!!! I'm back baby!!! I am ecstatic! Can you tell?

Anywhoo.. I caught the VMAs rerun tonight, so I got to see Kanye in all his glory. *Sigh, part of me wishes it was all planned but I'm know I'm reaching. This was harsh, even for Kanye.

This coming from the man that butchered Best I Ever had mind you.

The Douche-Bag-Attention-Whore-Dream-killer award goes to you Mr. West :)
. I wonder where he staggered off to after?

Shout outs to Bey for giving homegirl her moment later in the show.

I guess he really liked Beyonce's video, or maybe it was just the Henny speaking. o_O. This was all kinds of foul and disrespectful. I think the dude is going through something to be honest...

Either way 'Ye is so damn good at making music that he'll probably get away with this. Kanye West featuring Taylor Swift track anyone?

On a brighter note. I'd much rather focus my energy on the MJ tribute and all the greatness that ensued. Janet held it down for her big bro (even though Madonnas speech was way too long and her performance was way too short). Oh and the dancers made me melt (even though Janet was a tad stiff. It's OK, she's grieving).

They went in

Michael Jackson: The Greatest to have ever done it.

R.I.P Macbook Charger

It's a saaaaaad day in Ivy Jones land.

So my Macbook charger has been hanging by a thread for awhile and today it finally sucommed to it's injuries. This is NOT a good look since school starts today (In Toronto). As soon as it died I remembered Dre scolding me on how 'skin out' my cord was this summer. I thought it still had some fight in it but those sparks that were flying out of it showed me otherwise. *Sigh*

If anyone has a spare Macbook charger kickin' around let me know. I'm barely trying to pay $150 for one. (I'm so serious)

Alas, I am at a loss for words.

Now I have to use this PC which has me all discombobulated and confused.... **double sigh.**

Joined the Army

So when I was younger and my family was kinda tight on money we use to make this long ass trip to the Salvation Army... Now if you don't know Salavation army is a place where you can buy anything from underwear to a television set, all second hand. Meaning someone donated it, and its crazy because when I was younger I do remember seeing some pairs of briefs ready for taking.

But anyways my mom use to bring me there and say get whatever you want, now at the time when I was 8 I didnt care because I didnt know but once I got to around 10 I realized heeeeeey, this is not a good look, but I had this weird obession with plaid shirts, ask Ivy, and this place had a wide array of faded vintage plaid. But once I passed that phase I vowed never to enter that place again.

Until this weekend some of the guys wanted to go out there to buy some all white hats at an affordable price because we all knew that by the end of the night those hats were going to end up brown amongst other colors. So we get there and as I enetered Salavation Army it was just like a dream sequence from "Save by the Bell" as I was recalled rummanging through the aisle searching for somewhat clean clothes and t-shirts. My dream was shortly interrupted as I scoped a pretty vintage and somewhat rare fitted. A Toronto Blue Jays fitted from the early 1990s.

How much you ask... $3 bucks beats the usual price I pay for my fitteds. (which varies from 20 - 35)

I bought one more thing, and to make a long story short, I only got them because it was my favourite animal in the whole world. Now these fashionable dressed animals, can keep me fasionable dressed when I walk to the bathroom, head to the dining hall or walk around the hotel lobbies....

If you havent guessed they are penguin slippers. I wore em to practice and I was turning heads, and stopping traffic at all the red lights...

Arts&Crafts: Ring Edition

I LOVE RINGS! So when I realized that most of my rings were no where to be found, and that a lot of my other jewelery was pretty much broken I suffered a minor heart attack. Since I am in no financial position to buy lavish jewels for myself I knew it was time to get creative.

At this point, me, Sok and my 16 inch ponytail decided to take a trip downtown (Toronto) to the good o'l craft store.
We were like kids in a candy store in here but we couldn't lose focus. We were there on a mission. For one thing alone. RING BASES!
Mission accomplished!

After our jaunt downtown, I headed back home to get to work.

I rummaged through my jewelery case to see if I could salvage any of my broken necklaces, bracelets and earrings. Got my tools ready and got down to business.Lol, maybe I exaggerated the tools a little haha.

So I needed something to watch while working and what better than ............

Ugghh! You know I had to pick this up on the way back. Such a freeeeeakin classic!

So with the movie in and the tools ready.. I can get down to biz-nazz.

After suffering from minor nausea from the glue I finally finished some of them.
Nothing too dramatic, just enough to get me by for now. Plus it's always gratifying when you make your own stuff.

Amber Rose .. It Speaks!!

Sok and I were chillin' out today when the question arose... Have you ever heard Amber Rose speak? It took me a second to process the question before I jumped on my Macbook and went straight for Youtube. After typing in "Amber Rose Interview", I was shocked to hear her voice. It wasn't what I imagined AT ALL. Turns out shes not an android after all.

I guess stylish, fly, flawless beauties with bangin' bodies should be allowed to speak too. Even if it's not with the most.. eloquence ..lol

PS. We found another interview she did with Lip Service for all you freaks out there.. but um.. your on your own with that one..
